Fredericksburg, as an independent city in Virginia state, located 79 km south of Washington DC, and 93 km north of the city Richmon. In the 2000 census, the city with a population of 19,279 souls, most of the population travel by private car, then buses, and trains to Richmond, Fairfax, Prince William County, and Arlington. Because it is situated slightly to the north, it has long been debated, whether to Fredericksburg, go to the north or not.
Fredericksburg city center, there are about 350 ancient buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries, where visitors can go shopping or to restaurants and boutiques are spread across four blocks of "antique row" near a river.
